Barraquer Foundation is a non-profit organization whose goal is to provide eye care to help improve the visual health of populations without access to health care. This altruistic initiative driven by Professor Joaquín Barraquer, Dr. Elena Barraquer and Dr. Rafael Barraquer born as a continuation and updating of the Barraquer Clinic Social Work and his grandfather founded in 1941.
Expeditions focus primarily driven assistance in combating cataract cause of blindness in developing countries, and providing eyeglasses to children who without them would not get out of school.
It also offers training grants to qualified personnel in these countries, who, thanks to the skills learned may extend the work of the Foundation in their own areas of origin.
