Spring is the season of the year in which the symptoms of seasonal allergic conjunctivitis worse. It can affect people of any age, although the peak incidence occurs between 18 and 35 years, with no differences between the sexes. There is usually a genetic factor, so people with a family history of allergy are more likely to develop it. The most common allergens in this condition are the pollens of trees (olive, banana, cypress, etc.). Or grasses. Itching is the main symptom of this disease. In addition, there may be watery, red eyes, swollen eyelids, discharge, eye pain and, in severe cases, photophobia and blurred vision. It is advisable to go to the ophthalmologist as soon as you start the trouble, to assess the status and severity of the disease and to provide the most appropriate treatment.
