Master Program

Description:

The Master program consists of courses of nine months. Each year it organizes a Master relative to the previous segment and the other the posterior segment of the eyeball, whose lectures are held in the Auditorium of the Instituto Barraquer and take place on Friday afternoon, for general modules and Friday, during all day, corresponding to the specific modules, so that students can attend both Masters in if you are interested in it.

 

Credits:

The Masters developed by the Institut Universitari Barraquer, adapted to the European Higher Education Area, are included in the graduate program at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and comprise a total of 60 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System), based in all learning activities: work study staff, teaching hours, job build, practices, etc..

To overcome the master and obtain the corresponding qualifications necessary assistance to the theoretical activities (85%), presenting a research paper in relation to the Master to make and pass the final exam. Once completed, the Institut Universitari Barraquer issue a certificate of having passed the Master and may complete the relevant paperwork to apply for the title at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.

Organization:

The practices are conducted in small groups, with the collaboration of physicians and assigned residents under the guidance and supervision of the ophthalmologist in charge.

Surgery practices begin with the monitoring of assistance from the amphitheater equipped with transparent domes. Later, when the student has the skills and knowledge can help the surgeon in the operating room, provided they meet the applicable requirements by health authorities. In any case, the Department of Education and Experimental Surgery, you can play operations in conditions very similar to those found in operating rooms.

The clinical sessions consist of discussion of a case that represents an interesting aspect of the pathology or novel question of cover. Sessions are open to input and questions from all who participate in them. Are given for a period of one hour, two days a week.

Registration requirements:

You must be in possession of Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (or proof of having processed). After reviewing the curriculum and other qualifications that the candidate can claim, the Teaching Commission of IUB determines admission.

The foreign doctors who wish to clinical and surgical practice should be validated in Spain his degree in Medicine, to be registered at the College of Physicians of the province of Barcelona and have signed a liability policy.

Procedures:

Courses start in October. Procedures are recommended for admission during the months of May and September before the start of the course. In the case of foreign candidates outside the EU, the procedures should be made at least one academic year in advance, to manage scholarships, visas to stay in Spain and validation of a certificate.
