Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Barcelona (1988), he became specialist in Ophthalmology in 1996. He made external rotation for two years with the most prestigious world-renowned oculoplastic surgeons like Dr. Guillermo Salcedo (Mexico City), Prof. Joseph V. Moreiras Perez (Santiago de Compostela), Dr. Markus Pfeiffer (Munich), and so on.

He was Associate Professor of Anatomy at the Universitat Ramon Llull (Barcelona) between 1992 and 1997. At present, his main activity is developed in the Oculoplasty Unit of Centro de Oftalmología Barraquer. He is member of several scientific societies and he has published numerous articles in professional journals. He has conducted a lot of meetings and conferences at national and international congresses on the field, and he also coordinates Barraquer Foundation's humanitarian expeditions to India.
