Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Barcelona in 1987 and specialized in Ophthalmology (1992). In Centro de Oftalmología Barraquer, he conducts his clinical and surgical activity in the Eye Anterior Segment Surgery and Refractive Surgery departments. It is also responsible for the Department of Conservation of Corneas in the Eye Bank for treatment of blindness.

He followed courses on Eye Bank at Cornea Bank of the Netherlands Ophthalmic Research Institute (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) and at the Cornea Bank of the Christian Albrechts Universität in Kiel (Germany).

He has received several awards and honors both nationally and internationally, one of the most important being the "Prize for the best presentation of the session at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) in San Francisco (United States), in the year 2003.
