Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) in 1984, specialized in ophthalmology in1991. He is co-coordinator of the Vitreoretinal Surgery and Macula Units at Centro de Oftalmología Barraquer.

He develops an important parallel educational labor being responsible for resident training through Medical/Surgical Retina seminar, he also coordinates UAB doctoral programs at Barraquer Institute and he participates, as a teacher in Master courses held at Institut Universitari Barraquer,too.

He belongs to several scientific societies and has published numerous articles in the press, both nationally and internationally.

He is president of the Alumni Association, having coordinated several research projects.
