Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Barcelona (1998), and specialized in Ophthalmology (2003). Additionally, in 1999 he graduated in Optometry at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He is sub-specialized in anterior segment surgery and glaucoma. He is a member of the teaching team from Institut Universitari Barraquer, acting also as coordinator of the glaucoma sessions being imparted in the Center.

He has participated in numerous studies on anti-glaucomatous drugs, by assessing their efficacy and safety, as well as studies on different surgical techniques for the treatment of glaucoma.
