Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (1959), specialized in Ophthalmology (1966), he received his doctorate in 1983 with excellent Cum Laude qualification. It is to remark his great surgical experience in keratoplasty and keratoprosthesis, in which has become an international reference, and on which has presented many studies and papers at both national and international congesses. Among his awards and honors, he was granted the "Requejo," prize for the best academic record in Zamora. He is an Academic Corresponding member of the Royal Academy of Medicine in Catalonia.
