“Ignacio Barraquer” Grant
Ignacio Barraquer Grants include in their formulation the two aspects that allow for the advance of ophthalmology, so necessary for society and essential reason for the existence of Instituto Barraquer. The aim is to promote basic research, applied or general, and also facilitate the updating of professionals to guarantee their best abilities in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases through intensive customized programs.
Barraquer Prize (Spanish Society of Ophthalmology)
In 2008, Professor Joaquín Barraquer Moner, as another proof of his vocation for teaching, offered to the SEO an endowment for an Award to promote updating on the latest diagnostic techniques and the most modern and effective treatments that current ophthalmologic science may offer to patients.

Carolina Foundation Grants
In 2002 Institut Universitari Barraquer established a partnership with the Fundación Carolina (Spanish International Cooperation Agency) under the supervision of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, for the granting of a limited number of scholarships aimed at medical professionals from Latin American area, so they can form in the annual Masters Programs at Institut Universitari Barraquer, providing them with a monthly sum for their maintenance, as well as the tickets to travel from their place of origin.

IFOS Fellowships - ICO

Each year about 60 scholarships are available to subsidize a training period of 3 months in one of the collaborating centers with IFOS-ICO program, of which the Barraquer Ophthalmology Centre is a part, offering 2 scholarships annually.

“Joaquín Rutllán” Award
This award was instituted to honour the memory of Joaquín Rutllán, Executive Secretary of the Barraquer Institute, who died in 1994 after 40 years of unconditional dedication to the work of the Institute.
"Richard & Suzanne Troutman" Award
These awards are given during the meetings of the Barraquer Institute Alumni Section, thanks to an initial contribution of Professor Richard C. Troutman and his wife, Prof. Suzanne Veroneau - Troutman.
