The Professor in Eye Surgery Joaquin Barraquer will be awarded honorary doctorates by the UCAM (Catholic University of Murcia) on Friday September 18, at the Temple of the Monastery of Jeronimos.

This prestigious ophthalmologist and surgeon-director of the Barraquer Ophthalmology Centre of Barcelona will focus his inaugural speech on "Cataract surgery. The story that I have lived."

The laudatio will be given by Jerome Lajara also ophthalmologist and vice dean of the Degree in Medicine at the UCAM.

Barraquer, a world-renowned professional, focuses his clinical work on four main fields: corneal transplants and cataract, glaucoma and myopia surgeries. He has also developed an important role in teaching and has trained many specialists in the field.
