Prof. Joaquín Barraquer, former director of the Barraquer Ophthalmology Centre and an exemplary figure in ophthalmology across the world, continues to be dearly remembered and still receives many tributes from the medical community.
The 96th Congress of the Spanish Society of Ophthalmology (SEO) included the “Prof. Joaquín Barraquer lecture” in its programme, this year under the care of Dr. Javier Mendicute. During the discussion, pseudoexfoliation and cataract surgery were addressed as well as other milestones in the professor’s career.
The lecture, just like the rest of the conference, was made available online to suit the exceptional circumstances caused by Covid-19.
