Internal Medical Residents (MIR) who completed their training as specialists at the Barraquer Ophthalmology Centre this year have successfully passed the Diploma of the European Board of Ophthalmology (EBO). The doctors Jéssica Botella, Pablo Sanjuán, Laura Fernández del Cotero, Belén Torres and Carlos Fernández-Vega, travelled to Paris to take this Diploma examination and have thus obtained the title of "Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology".

The EBO was founded in London in 1992. It is a permanent working group of the Ophthalmological Subspecialty Section of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS).

Each year it holds an exam for the official diploma as a specialist in Ophthalmology recognised in Europe and the test evaluates both the knowledge and the clinical skills required to provide a high level of ophthalmological care.
