When did you start to work with fibrin membrane and what procedures it is applied to?

At the Barraquer Center we launched this procedure and started to work with fibrin membrane in 2018,  since until that point it had not be used in oculoplastic surgery.

Fibrin membrane is a platelet-rich plasma preparation, also known as PRP, which provides extra value to the recovery of any oculoplastic surgery, since it accelerates and improves the tissue healing process.

We can apply it to any operation in our specialist area: blepharoplasties, where we fix droopy eyelids or bags under the eyes; in reconstructions for patients who have lost an eye and we put an implant in place; and in tear duct procedures where we need healing to happen quickly to avoid infections...
