Throughout this year, we have organized a series of extraordinary clinical sessions, aimed at ophthalmologists and residents, with the aim of bringing closer the most recent scientific advances and facilitating the exchange of knowledge with experts from different medical specialties.
These sessions are a meeting place where clinical practice is combined with the most advanced research. We have the participation of external collaborators and reference entities, who have shared their experience and vision of the challenges and opportunities in ophthalmology.
One of the first sessions of the year was led by Dr. Ma Asunción Peiré, expert in Pediatric Pharmacology, Ortomolecular Nutrition, Mycotherapy, Micro Inmo Therapy and Bio Inmuno Genetics. During his presentation, the therapeutic potential of BIGMED in ophthalmology was addressed, a discipline based on cellular self-regulation through microRNA and signaling molecules.
The attendees were able to know how this innovative approach can influence the treatment of complex pathologies such as macular degeneration, neurodegenerative retinopathies, resistant eye infections, tumors and autoimmune diseases with ocular affectation. The session was noted for its pioneering nature and for opening new avenues of research for ophthalmological clinics.
Another outstanding session was given by Dr. Danial Roshandel, MD, PhD, on “Shaping the Future of Ocular Surface Regeneration”. In this session, participants explored the latest advances in regenerative therapies on the ocular surface, including stem cells, biomaterial scaffolding and genetic editing.
Dr. Rosadel offered a comprehensive overview of how these technologies are transforming the way to restore vision and improve the quality of life of patients, showing how scientific research translates into concrete and promising clinical applications.
The extraordinary cycle of 2025 was closed with a neuro-ophthalmology session by Dr. Bernardo Sánchez Dalmau, head of the Surgical Area Section of the Clinical Institute of Ophthalmology of the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona. During the presentation, key issues such as differential diagnosis and management of neuritis and optical neuropathy were addressed, including the study of the optic nerve, ocular motility and pupillary anomalies.
With more than thirty years of clinical experience, Dr. Sánchez Dalmau offered attendees a deep and practical perspective, consolidating the value of these sessions as tools for updating and professional improvement.
