For more than 25 years, the Fundació Roure has accompanied people who are in a precarious situation so that they are as autonomous as possible and can carry out their life project. Through its numerous programs, they annually serve more than 2,700 people at risk of social exclusion, many of them from the Ciutat Vella district, where the entity has its headquarters and its premises and facilities.

Within the framework of the Mirem per tu program, the Barraquer Foundation organized last Wednesday, November 24, a day of comprehensive eye health examination at the Roure Foundation, in which a total of 26 users of the entity were visited. Ten cases were detected of people who will have to go to General Óptica to undergo a more exhaustive optometric examination, determine the exact prescription and get glasses that allow them to solve their vision problems.  Eleven other people with possible ocular pathologies will be seen soon at the Barraquer Ophthalmology Centre with the appropriate specialist in each case.

We are especially grateful for significant contribution of Dr. Anna Soldevila and Dr. Clara Bonel, MIR of the Barraquer Ophthalmology Cenrer, and Cristina Prieto, optometrist of the Francesc Maciá store of General Óptica. We also want to highlight the work of our colleagues from the Roure Foundation, who made our work much easier at all times.

In December, following the schedule, we will organize the next day of eye examinations at one of the Ires Foundation centres, another of the social entities that benefit from the Mirem per tu program.

We’ll keep you up to date!
