Cutting-edge ophthalmology training

At the Barraquer Institute, we are proud to offer a wide range of ophthalmology training programs designed for professionals looking to keep up to date with the latest advances in the field of ophthalmology. Our institution is committed to providing high-quality programs that fit the needs of today's ophthalmologists. Below is an overview of the different types of training we offer:

1. Master in Pathology and Surgery of the Anterior Segment of the Eye

Our Master in Pathology and Surgery of the Anterior Segment of the Eye is a comprehensive program designed to exhaustively review the latest advances in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies in this area. This program conforms to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) model, supported by ECTS credits. Participants have access to online teaching units and streaming sessions, allowing them to update their knowledge conveniently and without sacrificing scientific quality. The postgraduate degree requires the completion of research work supervised by our top-level medical team.

2. Master in Pathology and Surgery of the Posterior Segment of the Eye

Our Master in Pathology and Surgery of the Posterior Segment of the Eye follows a similar structure to the previous one, focused on pathologies of the posterior segment of the eye. Like the Previous Segment Master's Degree, this program is designed to provide professionals with the tools and knowledge necessary to excel in their ophthalmological practice.

3. 3D surgery simulator - Cataract and Vitreoretinal Module

Our institution is a pioneer in the application of 3D simulation technology in ophthalmological training. Our 3D surgery simulator allows students to practice surgical procedures in a virtual environment, reducing risks for real patients. We offer specialized training in both cataract and vitreoretinal surgery, allowing participants to improve their surgical skills in a realistic environment.

4. External Doctors in Training

For those who want a hands-on experience at the Barraquer Ophthalmology Centre, we offer the opportunity to do an external rotation. Ophthalmologists and residents in stage R2 or higher can benefit from this personalized rotation, which includes access to consultations, clinical sessions and surgeries, as well as participation in academic events.

5. Internships for MIR Residents from Other Centres

The Barraquer Ophthalmology Centre also receives ophthalmology residents from other hospitals who wish to complete their training in our subspecialized areas. This official rotation, authorized by the relevant authorities, offers residents an experience similar to that of our own residents, including activities such as access to consultations and participation in clinical sessions and academic events.

6. Tailor-Made Course for Industry

We offer premium courses designed for groups of professionals who want to delve deeper into specific areas of ophthalmology and gain a practical insight into the experience of our ophthalmologists. These courses can be adapted according to the objectives and profiles of the attendees and focus on the integration of theoretical knowledge and practical clinical cases.

7. Pediatric Ophthalmology Course

Our Pediatric Ophthalmology Course is designed to address the challenges in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular pathologies in pediatric patients. This online course offers 15-minute presentations and access from any device to an exclusive platform, allowing participants to contact the speakers directly to answer questions.
